Gluttony trip to Kuching

So, one random day I suddenly decided to buy tickets to Kuching. That was how my amazing trip began.

Gelang Patah Seafood Hunt

One of the best seafood place that I have tasted (in Johor).

Yummy Laksa Johor

The famous Tampoi Laksa that would make anyone's salivary glands working.

Trip to Palmerston North

So, from Dunedin, I flew up to Palmerston North for about a week for my placement in Palmerston North. Though it was meant to be strictly business only, I managed to have fun and as usual, just hang out with friends I cherish most. :)

Pancake Rocks

Popular stop for tourists when they are travelling along the West Coast of South Island. These rocks are actually limestones that were heavily eroded by the mildly acidic rain, wind and seawater formed about 30 million years ago from minute fragments of dead marine creatures and plants that landed on the seabed about 2km below the surface.

Trip to Palmerston North

So, from Dunedin, I flew up to Palmerston North for about a week for my placement in Palmerston North. Though it was meant to be strictly business only, I managed to have fun and as usual, just hang out with friends I cherish most. :)

Just as I arrive in Palmerston North, I was greeted by familiar faces and people that I've not seen in 6 months It was a pleasure getting to meet them again.

We made our very own wrap. Doesn't matter how you like it, just wrap it according to what you want to have. :) It was a simple way to bond with your friends and it was definitely enjoyable for me as I get to meet so many new friends.

Saw this cute mug at work.

Owh I think this is so true. Haha.

Some interesting things I found at the pharmacy.

"Failure is not falling down... It is not getting up again." This is so true. We don't fail until we give up on ourselves and falling down is just part and parcel of learning. Those who stand up after falling are always the stronger ones and these people are definitely not failures.

This definitely made my day. Last day placement at Cook St Pharmacy and guess what? I saw  this lovely double rainbow just before my eyes. It was a full rainbow but too bad my phone did not have panorama features to capture it.

After all the serious work, here comes the fun. :) This is the awesome meal my friend and I had at  Thai House on Broadway Avenue. The food was excellent. We loved it. This was tom yum noodle soup and my friend had ginger fish. We were supposed to have our dinner at Chada Thai but it was too packed so we decided to walk across the street and by the strike of luck, we ended up devouring this delicious meal.

We then decided to have dessert at Coffee Club just around the corner. The caramel cheesecake was just simply delicious. I'd definitely recommend it.

Then the next day, I've decided that I've been pigging too much so I went for a walk along the Manawatu River. Good choice. The view was just spectacular.

A good blend of colours here.

It was a good sunny day. Perfect day for the ducks too I suppose. :)

At the esplanade.

Here comes more food. Haha. This is the claypot chicken noodle soup at Bean Cafe on Broadway Avenue. It is reasonably priced but the portion is very very big. This dish was a good winter warmer as it was really cold outside.

Open air ice skating rink in the middle of The Square. Interesting.

Just casually hanging out with some friends.

Here comes the second double rainbow I saw in 3 days. How amazing is that? God always have his ways of mesmerising us and he never failed.

Beauty and the beast statue in front of Regent theater.

Yummy yum char from China Town. :) The durian puff was really good. I'll definitely recommend it. I'm not a durian lover but the durian puffs have a mild durian taste that doesn't linger as much when eating durian.

Saw these cute bicycle stand in the middle of town. :)

Large piano hanging on the wall. This is a very creative piece of decoration.

Another sumptuous meal in Palmerston North at Wabi Sabi. It was yumm....

So, there's a lot that Palmerston North can offer. I absolutely love this place and the people I've met here. It was a truly amazing experience.

Cheers

Pancake Rocks, New Zealand

So we went to the famous Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki. This is a popular stop for tourists when they are travelling along the West Coast of the South Island. These rocks are actually limestones that were heavily eroded by the mildly acidic rain, wind and seawater. They were formed about 30 million years ago from minute fragments of dead marine creatures and plants that landed on the seabed about 2km below the surface. The intense water pressure caused fragments to solidify in hard and soft layers while the gradually seismic action lifted the limestone above the seabed. Because of the shape that the rocks, several blowholes were created and they were simply pleasant to watch especially at high tide when the waves slam themselves on the rocks and spray into the air.

Here are some of the pictures my friends and I took during our trip.

I especially love this picture we took on our way to Pancake Rocks. It looks as if they were on the top of the world. Priceless expressions from all of them. :)

Credits to Azri for taking this picture. :)

Friends forever. :)

No mountains too high, no river too deep. Nothing can break the friendship bond we made.. :)

Da boys in da house bro. :) Shows that they have been going to the gym.

Great view of pancake rocks. If you look carefully, you can spot a face and a lion . The wonders of nature. :)

We just love this place.

They look cute in this picture. :) 2 very photogenic people.

The bridge that forms the pillar of our friendship. We have learnt that there's nothing more valuable than knowing there's always someone who will get your back if you fall. This is what friends are for. :)

Again, you can sort of see a face carved into the stones.  Unleash your creativity and tell me what you see. :)

Look at those striations. This is why mother nature never fails to mesmerise  me. God is a great artist and  we can't deny that. He blesses us in all forms. Creating a serene environment for us to enjoy and relax.

We used to be strangers who crossed each other's path by coincidence and made friends instantly. Never have we hesitated but the bond that grew over time remain strong and is enough for us to strive for what we want.

Another shot of sunset.

Let there be love in this world.

Caught in deep thoughts by the serenity of the surrounding.

Before they head into the misty mountains up the back.. :)

Boys being boys...

The inseparable sisters.

Let the light shine your way. Never let anything get between you and your dreams.

The loner at sunset? Sole survivor of the great tide? This is a great depiction of how we should see  our journey here. When the tides come in and slaps you in the face, stay strong and keep standing for when the tide recedes, you know you will once again connect with everything you've lost.

Carving their way via the rocks.

Never stop smiling no matter what happens.

Tell me what you see...

There's lots of rambling about my friends and I but I am really proud of them and they have made me who I am today. Stayed with me through the tough times and we share the good times.

Anyway, I hope you liked the pancake rocks and definitely put them in your list of places to visit.. :)

Till then... Chao...
